We got back to the lair just before sunrise. April and Casey had already left.

"We used the ‘eye in the sky.’" Donnie said. "You guys were at Bone Head’s! What happened? We were gonna go and save you but then you just started coming back!"

"We escaped," Raph said.

"How?" Leo asked.

"Lucky break," I said. "The dude’s got faulty appliances…"

"Huh?" Mikey asked. "I don’t get it."

"Never mind…" I muttered. "We’re safe; that’s all that matters, right?"

"Well, the fact that you guys were captured in the first place still makes us worried," Leo said.

"You’re worried about me? Well that’s different!" I said. "You hate me, Raph tolerates me, Donnie ignores me, Mikey is all in his radio show, Venus is all in her Shinobi stuff… Splinter is the only one here I really get to talk to!" I scoffed and said, "I have been here an entire month and it’s now that I find out who this Bone Steel guy is! You guys don’t let me in on anything! You’ve never once explained who the Silver Gang is… Who the Rank is… Who that Dr. Queese person is… or who the ‘Foot’ and ‘Shredder’ are…"

"You never asked," Mikey replied.

"Why do I need to ask?" I snapped. "You guys KNEW that this Bone Steel guy was dangerous… as I assume that all the others are too! You knew! You knew that I, too, was in danger… but you didn’t say a thing to me about them… How did I figure out all those names, you ask? EASY! I listen! If ya’ll had care even a smidgen for my safety, you would have told me the first chance you got!"

"Ave…" Donnie said quietly.

"RANDI!" I screamed. "RANDI TEZLOF!"

"Randi… We’re sorry…" Mikey said as he stepped toward me. "We shoulda told ya… but with your leg and all…"

I stepped away from him and said, "Oh that’s real nice… ‘But with your leg and all…’ Do you think that I didn’t need to know of these guys just because I couldn’t even leave the lair?"

"Randi…" Splinter said from the door of his room, "Calm down please…"

"No!" I screamed and turned to him. "You! I spoke to you the most! Why didn’t YOU tell me? Why didn’t you warn me? Maybe for the same reason why you guys never said a word about April or Casey…"

"Randi…" Raph said with his head lowered, "I’m sorry…"

"Sorry doesn’t cut it…" I said calming down. "You knew that those guys were out there and yet you took me out without even saying a word about them…"

"I… I’m sorry Randi…" Raph stuttered. "I… I just…" He stopped and shook his head.

"Randi…" Venus said, "We all apologize. We were all wrong. We should have warned you about them. We have no excuse for not doing so."

"No excuse is right." I said, shaking my head. "Maybe… maybe it would have been better if… if I hadn’t escaped… maybe it would have been better if I was still with Morgan and Dianne… dead or alive…"

I didn’t wait for them to say another word; I went straight to my room and slammed the door behind me. As I lay on the bed with Magia on my carapace, I could feel the burning ice rise behind my eyes, but again I didn’t cry.
